Marisabel Borja is an international interior designer and hospitality expert, born and raised in El Salvador. She holds a Master of Architecture from the Savannah College of Art & Design and is currently pursuing her NCIDQ certification. Her work is shaped by a rich cultural perspective and a deep understanding of the emotional and mental wellness impact of design.

She has contributed to major hospitality projects around the world, including the renovation of the Chicago Marriott Lincolnshire Resort, the world’s largest semi-custom Residence Inn, and the Renaissance Wanfujing in Beijing. Her designs blend cultural nuance with timeless elegance, creating immersive environments that tell a story.

As a former Senior Designer at Antunovich Associates, Marisabel led award-winning projects across hospitality, residential, retail, and workplace sectors. Highlights include The Citizen, recognized with the 2020 MHN Excellence Gold Award for Best Adaptive Reuse, and the Marriott Lincolnshire transformation, which earned the Lodging Industry’s Elite Award for Most Impactful Repositioning.

Today, she leads MBD, a full-service interior design studio delivering thoughtful, tailored design solutions. Her philosophy centers on storytelling through space—crafting environments that reflect each client’s identity while elevating the way people live, work, and experience the world.
